Let’s go fly TRAPEZE!
Month two of trying something new brought us to Trapeze School New York. This was something Becca had done a few times before, but it was brand new to Tiffany. And again we dragged along a friend for the flight. Here’s what we thought.
What is it?
Flying trapeze is exactly what it sounds like. You get to learn how to use the trapeze just like in the circus! If this is your first time, you will learn safety, how to get up to the platform and what to do when you’re up there (23 feet in the air!). After learning that, you get to learn some simple tricks while you’re flying.
What do I wear?
Tight fitting yoga pants, fitted shirt, and socks.
What gear do I need?
None. They provide everything you need.
Overall I thought…
B: It is just so fun! And definitely better to go with a group of friends, as there is some downtime in between flying.
T: I was so happy that I got out of my comfort zone and tried this. This was not an activity that came naturally to me, but it got a bit easier with each turn I took up there.
I was surprised by….
B: How quickly my memory of what to do and how to do it came back – not perfectly but enough to make me feel more comfortable and to start immediately working on a more advanced trick.
T: I had no idea the adrenaline I would feel when I was standing at the top of the platform before swinging down. I figured since I do not have a fear of heights, I would not be nervous. Totally not the case!
I wish I had…
B: Been more relaxed at the beginning and asked more questions about how to land that trick, as that was a challenge for me.
T: Relaxed a bit more on my first couple of tries at it. I was a bundle of nerves since I had no idea what to expect or how I would do.
Would you do it again?
T: I would do it again with friends that wanted to try it, but I am nervous still thinking about it!
