Zumba?! Ok, perhaps a dying trend, but we still hadn’t tried it and thought it could be an interesting way to unwind after a long day. Plus, we tried blacklight Zumba, and who doesn’t love dancing in the dark?!
What is it?
Latin inspired dance fitness.
What do I wear?
Clothes you feel comfortable moving in. We went with capri pants and athletic tops. It definitely got hot so shorts may also be a good idea.
What gear do I need?
Highly recommend water and a towel. We only brought water and desperately craved a towel.
Overall I thought…
B: It was better than I thought. Zumba has been around for a while and some will say it is on its way out. But you wouldn’t get that from the studio we went to – it was packed!
T: I thought it was fun! I think dancing as fitness is a great idea and the studio we went to was so energetic and enthusiastic.
I was surprised by….
B: The community. After our class we had other students coming up to us asking us how we liked it, and if we are coming back. It was great to feel so welcomed.
T: The intensity of the workout! I thought we’d be kind of dancing around, but it was actually a pretty intense workout that had me sweating a ton!
I wish I had…
B: Brought a towel. I was super sweaty after the workout, which was a very pleasant surprise.
T: Thought to bring a towel. Yup, Becca and I are in agreement on that one.
Would you do it again?
B: I’m on the fence. The workout was better than I expected, but I am in love with some many other things already (Soul Cycle and Pure Barre) I’m just not sure I can add another thing to the list.
T: Probably not, but mostly because the schedule doesn’t work for me. Most of the classes were in the evenings and it took us months to get this one class scheduled!
Any other Zumba lovers out there?!
