Last year, in January (of course!), I bought a juicer. I had grand plans of starting a great new habit. I made, oh, maybe two juices before it started gathering dust. So here we are one year later and I again have grand plans for juicing. I’m going to try it out for real this time.
There are two main benefits I’m hoping to get out of juicing:
1) Add all those good nutrients to your diet if you don’t eat enough green stuff or fruit (me!!).
2) Increased energy levels
So here’s the plan.
1) I am buying some juices from the store or online and I will see what combinations I like so I can make my own.
2) I will hopefully stop buying expensive juices ($7 a pop!!) and make my own.
The goal is to drink the juice in the afternoon which is my normal low energy time and after dinner when I usually want something sweet like dessert. This is no juice cleanse because I would never survive that!
You’ll get the benefit of my learnings. Because let’s be real here. I am a full time working mom with two young kids. I’m looking for any shortcut or quick fix to staying healthy. Bonus if I can get my three year old to drink it too because I’m pretty sure PB&J and goldfish crackers do not count in the fruit and vegetable department. Are you with me? Do you have a favorite juice recipe? Please do share!
