Today’s motivation comes straight from Hagrid of the Harry Potter series. I love this one because it reminds us not to worry about what’s ahead. When we’re there, we’ll be ready. It’s such a great metaphor for life in general. It’s a waste of time to worry about the future, focus on what you’re doing today as you can’t react to an unknown future now.
The other piece of this is that Hagrid is assuring them (in this case Harry & friends) that they are fully capable of handling what is coming. In most cases, this is the same in everyone’s lives. While we may worry about handling something, even if life goes off course, we usually figure out how to manage things. Life goes on. We forget why we even worried about it in the first place.
We certainly need to prepare for the future (ahem, retirement savings anyone?!), but that doesn’t mean you need to worry about stopping it or changing its course. We’ll meet it when it comes.
