Anyone else use Skyfit? If not, comment below and we’ll send you a code for a free month. I am madly in love with this app! As you know we LOVE SoulCycle, and one of my weekly tasks in my PowerSheets is to go to a SoulCycle class because it keeps me going strong all week. Skyfit is a workout app that is being marketed as similar to SoulCycle, and I completely agree.
Using the Skyfit running app last week I was told by the instructor to modify the workout as I see fit, because modifications are a sign of wisdom, not of weakness. The instructor mentioned it a few times, reminding us that if something doesn’t feel right, to adjust accordingly as it isn’t worth hurting yourself. Am I the only one that has pushed through a workout even when it hurts? Even when I’m absolutely exhausted? Even when I know I shouldn’t?
That is why perhaps this reminder has stuck with me. I do this. Often. I push myself and sometimes it works out. Sometimes I needed to push through running up that hill or getting in that extra pushup. Sometimes I feel better. But sometimes, I don’t. Sometimes I feel worse. You have to have the courage to modify and change direction, which is why it is a sign of wisdom and not of weakness. But at times I am weak and succumb to the self talk that if I don’t do what I set out to do, I fail.
This week for all my workouts I am going to listen not to the ego, as Jess Lively would say, but to my intuition and my wisdom. Is there a place in your life where you could do the same?
